Britain's first pole dancing survey

Posted: Mar 28 2011

Pole dancing has fast become one of the hottest fitness trends in the UK, with schools nationwide and many people owning their own pole. To find out more about pole dancing in the UK and the changing attitudes towards it,  X Pole International the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of dance poles has teamed up with new pole fitness company Pole Motion to launch the first ever pole dancing survey.

Running from 1st February to 31st March, the survey aims to find out the main reasons people pole dance, the fitness benefits people have experienced, how many people have lessons or own a pole at home.

The full results will be revealed in May for UK Pole Dancing Day and everyone who takes part in the survey will be entered into a draw to win an X Pole Sport.

Pole dancing works the whole body, improving muscle tone, flexibility, coordination, posture as well as upper body and core strength.   And owning a pole at home has never been easier or more affordable in comparison to other home exercise equipment such as rowing machines and treadmills.

Many celebrities have also tried pole dancing including; Britney Spears, Demi Moore, Ellen Degeneres,  Fearne Cotton, Heidi Klum, Kate Moss, Kate Hudson, Kirsten Stewart, Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton. Madonna also has poles in her Hard Candy Gyms and there is a play currently touring the UK about pole dancing called the Naked Truth.

Pole Dancing has also featured on prime time television on shows such as Britain’s Got Talent and Got to Dance and The Clothes Show Live featured a dance arena that included a pole dancing area where people could sign up for taster sessions.
